Nagoya (^^)

January 8.... First day in Nagoya! So excited ! I decided to hang around the city for our first day.  We got map at the tourist info center, and after a very slow start to get going from Nagoya station we finally headed off to Nagoya city science museum to see the planetarium.
Apparently, the planetarium was new, only from last year.  Didn't take us long to find it once we left Fushimi station and started walking, maybe because you can't really miss the huge ball! We hung out at the park behind the planetarium, had something to eat and fell asleep.  Slowly we made our way into the planetarium.  Admission price for adult was okay (including the planetarium) and junior high school kids are free.  We went around the exhibition, interesting and interactive, maybe could be better if we understand the Japanese explanations.  It is not uncommon to go to museums in Japan and not being able to see any English explanations.  Hiroshima memorial museum does have English explanations of the exhibits, but not most of the castles, even though I'm sure they have interesting history of feudal Japan.
Comes time to head to the planetarium, the line up was long.  In there, I only watched few minutes of the show before I had a nice nap... It was a nice nap until I got woken up by the big bang .... then went back to sleep again until the show was over :D We then head to Osu, went around the shopping area.  Osu is quite the fun place to shop, and considerably cheap. If anything, I never stop being amazed of how much variety there are in Asia for anything. In Indonesia, Japan, shopping is always overwhelming because there are so much of one kind of item. For example, one store, even though small carries MANY types of shoes.... FutureShop like electronic store here sold overwhelming selections of one item for example keyboards. To go to food store by the stations always overwhelmingly too many selections of food.... So, I was naturally quite overwhelmed shopping here too.... too many selections and variety... sometimes ended up not buying anything because there are too many to choose from. There's a fried chicken place there, apparently Viv quite like it.  He called it JFC... Japan Fried Chicken :D I did well here not buying anything at all....
I need this mirror, i look so skinny ^^
We headed home and Shinji made us all dinner.... and again I forgot to take the picture (-_-).  Met his father, seems like quite the pleasant man. Shinji made a very delicious hot pot, for those who doesn't know in Asia we often eat food this way: a pot of broth heated up on the portable stove on the table, then cut up vegetables and meat prepared uncooked. Then people around the table put whatever vegetables or meat in it, then scooped it when done, adding more vegies or meat as necessary.  Usually eaten with rice or noodles.  In my family's case, for chinese new year, we always have noodles, vegies and seafood for the hotpot.  Today, Shinji made kimchi broth with a touch of miso, vegies and tofu.  So yummi I forgot to take pictures..... (-_-).
It was nice to end the night after a hot shower..... Today was good because it was my first time going to a planetarium, and I was quite pleased of how comfortable my sleep was there (^^) hehe.  Very tired, and couldn't wait to go to lala land....
